Paul Docherty

Managing Director & Founder

Paul founded 3DMEDiTech in 2016 with the aim of revolutionising medical device production in the region using 3D printing and advanced manufacturing solutions.

Prior to 3DMEDiTech, Paul was the CEO of Direct Connect, which he founded in 2004. Direct Connect is still one of Australia’s largest moving services companies, helping hundreds of thousands of people move home every year. Paul was instrumental in the ultimate sale of the Direct Connect/Lumo businesses to Snowy Hydro for $605m in 2014.

Paul is Chairman of the Melbourne Rebels Rugby Union Club, competing in the global Super Rugby competition, and he is also a Director of Rugby Victoria.

Paul is the Regional Chair of YPO, the largest CEO and business owner networking group in the world. Paul sits as one of the Chairs on the Regional Global Committee representing Australia and New Zealand.

Paul is Executive Chair of Hummingbird, Executive Chair of the Hood.AI tech platform, Executive Chair of SmileStyler and Executive Chair of Serkel.


Eric Bert

Chief Operations Officer

Eric brings 35 years of Disruptive Technology Management experience to lead 3DMEDiTech in the development of new solutions for personalised medical devices and COVID-19 testing. 

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Massachusetts and is a veteran of the 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing Industry:

○      SVP Arcam (a GE Additive Company)

○      President of Arcam North America

○      SVP Stratasys North America

With broad global experience in medical device design, manufacturing and regulatory compliance, Eric is also the inventor of 3DMEDiTech’s world-leading COVID-19 3D Printed nasal and saliva swab devices and solutions.

He has been instrumental in the growth of 3DMEDiTech and has served as COO from January 2018. 

Eric currently lives in Melbourne with his wife and has 2 children based in the US.
